Installation Instructions

The specific repair for your device may vary. A typical glass repair can be completed with the following steps. We suggest viewing a repair video on YouTube prior to installation.

  • Apply a strip of clear packing tape across the cracked screen
  • Use the heat source to slowly heat up the surface of your screen to loosen the adhesive
  • Apply the suction cup to the glass
  • With the wedge tool start to separate the glass from the device
  • Insert the picks as you go to keep the screen separated
  • Work your way around the device, separating the bottom of the device last
  • Once the glass is separated, carefully disconnect digitizer flex cable
  • Once the glass is removed wipe off LCD
  • Apply adhesive to replacement screen
  • Reconnect digitizer flex cable
  • Adhere screen to phone

Good service October 5, 2016
Reviewer: Helen Turner from Upland, IN United States
I received the requested parts in a timely manner and they were just as advertized.  I discovered the repair was more extensive and more difficult than I could accomplish with just the glass and I needed the LCD replaced as well.   ReparPartsPlus return policy was easy and though I haven't yet received my refund (it's only been a couple of days) I expect there to be no problem with that either.

Great replacemement kit August 23, 2016
Reviewer: Scott H from Colorado Springs, CO United States
Our daughter had pretty well destroyed the glass on her phone. Going through other channels it was going to cost us considerably more than the cost of buying new glass. The kit provides the tools and parts you need to perform a good replacement.

The item was fine, just couldn't use it. July 16, 2016
Reviewer: Debra Dover from Clover, SC United States
The order was fine, however, I watched videos on how to replace the screen, I realized I could not do it.  I need to return it.

Thank you,
Debra Dover

Screen looks great June 11, 2016
Reviewer: Lee Caldwell from Easthampton, MA United States
The tools that came with it were pretty much useless. I didn't need to use the picks because the old screen would break before it got the point where I could. The plastic pry tool just snapped because it couldn't lift with enough force and I didn't want to burn the lcd by heating it up to the point where it could have been used.

The guitar pick thing was too thick and also not strong enough to get under the glass. A super flat dull piece of metal would work far better. I ended up using a flat hair clip because it was thin, had flex to it, and was strong enough to get under the glass.

The adhesive worked awesome to attach the glass to the lcd but on the Droid the glass needs to attach to the lcd and the phone, so I ended up using Krazy glue to seal everything down to the phone.

So I gave it a 4 because I bought it for the screen and not for the tools. Even though the tools sucked, it was super cheap and the repair was successful and looked nice.
